    In education and related fields to grow and refine their capacity to work together across institutional boundaries, increase their professional and policy knowledge base, and expand their networks of support.

    IEL is leading an exciting new training opportunity for self-advocates and family members of children with intellectual/developmental disabilities in the District of Columbia. DC Advocacy Partners is a nine-month training opportunity designed to strengthen the knowledge and advocacy skills of participants to become policy influencers working to improve disability services in the District. DC Advocacy Partners is supported by the DC Developmental Disabilities Council.

    To help schools and other key stakeholders build deep, intentional partnerships that achieve better results for every youngster, from early childhood to young adulthood.

    Join the Coalition for Community Schools at our 2012 National Forum in San Francisco (May 9-12). Participants will learn from schools and communities that are planning, or are in the midst of scale up, as well as those who are at scale and working to deepen their efforts and improve effectiveness. The theme, Scaling up School and Community Partnerships: The Community Schools Strategy reflects the Coalition's new guide.     Improving Policies and Systems for Children and Youth

    By conducting, synthesizing, and sharing relevant research; providing tools and technical assistance; and working to develop a comprehensive continuum of services for young people.

    IEL offered expert testimony on the importance of career-focused mentoring for at-risk youth before the District of Columbia's City Council Human Services Committee, explaining the importance of structured mentoring activities and outlined IEL's Ready to Achieve Mentoring Program (RAMP)™.
