Nina Abelson is the Program Assistant for the National Collaborative on Workforce & Disability for Youth (NCWD/Youth), which is housed in the Institute for Educational Leadership. She is a conduit between the NCWD, its Federal grant provider—the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP)—and Collaborative members across the country. Her duties include, but are not limited to, providing administrative support, tracking publications in their production and distribution, and assisting in organized events.
Abelson’s previous work experience branches into both the non-profit arena as well as education. She was a Field Manager for the Fund for Public Interest Research, campaigning and canvassing for The Renewable Energy Standard Act (H.R. 969). She also was a Dedicated Aide at the Hope Community Public Charter School in Washington, D.C., where she ran the Extended Day Program and was a one-on-one tutor for students with Individualized Education Programs.
Abelson graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Education from American University.
