Chiappe is a Research Associate for the Center for Workforce Development’s National Consortium on Leadership and Disability for Youth (NCWD/Y), which is housed at the Institute for Educational Leadership. Her main responsibilities include: providing research, writing and analysis of data, as well as maintaining and providing NCWD/Y’s outreach, communication, and dissemination strategies.
Chiappe’s previous work experience branches into both education and international development. She has worked at the Inter-American Development Bank’s Institute for Social Development providing support both in distance learning and training of educators and administrators. Chiappe was also an ESOL public school teacher and parent liaison in the Alexandria City Public Schools, and a human rights worker with Salesian missions in the Peruvian Andes.
Chiappe holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in French Language & Literature and Italian Literature from the University of Virginia’s College of Arts And Sciences.
