Irene Lynn is a Senior Fellow for the Center for Workforce Development. She focuses on assisting with the eleven innovative grant sites around the country. In addition she researches and advises on issues relating to workforce preparation for youth with disabilities.
Prior to joining us at IEL Ms. Lynn worked for the Department of Labor for over thirty years in a number of different capacities. Most recently she worked with the Office of Youth Opportunity where she was responsible for overseeing over $1,350 billion in federal youth programs. She successfully directed the implementation of new youth legislation, which included the establishment of 36 youth opportunity career center sites in poor urban, rural and Native American communities. She also worked for the National School-to-Work Office, Employment and Training Administration and the Unemployment Insurance Services, all of which are housed in the Department of Labor.
Ms. Lynn has received outstanding performance ratings for the past ten years in addition to many awards for the projects she has worked on.
Irene received her post-graduate certificate completion in training design from Georgetown University and her Bachelors in History and Political Science from High Point College.
