The 2004 Holmes Scholars (selected minority doctoral candidates in education from universities around the country) at their opening reception in June 2004, for their week-long "Summer Leadership Institute" in D.C. The Institute, co-sponsored by The Holmes Partnership, The George Washington University, and American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, is in its third year, and IEL has been a proud collaborator in helping expose participants to issues of national relevance through seminars and information sessions unique to our nation's capital. Class of 2004, the Education Policy Fellowship Program's (EPFP) D.C. site participants, after their graduation ceremony held at the National Press Club. They were joined by sponsors, family, and friends to help celebrate their successful completion of IEL's year-long leadership development program. They now join the ranks of over 5,500 EPFP national alumni.
