The spirit of the Initiative has been uniquely inclusive from its inception. Many national education, business and government organizations have nominated task force members and participated in our planning. This includes groups representing superintendents, principals, teachers, governors, legislators, mayors, school boards, community leaders and parents ... groups on all sides of the political and pedagogical spectrums ... and groups whose ongoing involvement will be essential as this project moves forward.
The two-year project is being funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Educational Research and Improvement, the Ford Foundation, the UPS Foundation, the MetLife Foundation, and Carnegie Corporation of New York.
