Minnesota EPFP
The
Minnesota EPFP™ site is beginning its 28th year. The program is comprised
of two to three dinner-seminars and expanded sessions each month
, a day at the state capitol and an orientation retreat and year-end
retreat. The programming is designed to help Fellows understand
the education and human services policy process in Minnesota and
to make better use of leadership sills and other resources that
each participant brings to the program, and to identify important
current and future policy issues. In addition to the co-coordinators
seminar resources included elected officials and their staff, agency
heads, academics, representatives of advocacy groups and other education
and human services policy leaders. Programming for 2003-2004 will
also include an event to celebrate the Minnesota EPFP™ program and
the 40th Anniversary of the national EPFP. The goal of the Minnesota
site program is to help participants gain a “generalist” mindset,
manage complex situations and approach policy decisions in a strategic
manner. The ten 2003-2004 Minnesota Fellows represent 6 organizations
and agencies . Several are sponsored by EPFP™ alumni. The Minnesota
site is affiliated with the Department of Educational Policy and
Administration, College of Education and Human Development, University
of Minnesota and has helped over 325 individuals effect change in
American education and human service systems over its almost three
decades of existence.
