Missouri EPFP

The 2004-2005 Missouri EPFP™ has seven Institutional Partners and a cohort of ten Fellows. Institutional Partners include Harris Stowe State College, Human Development Corporation, Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Saint Louis University, University of Missouri St. Louis, Washington University, and YWCA of Greater St. Louis.

The MO EPFP™ engages Fellows in a variety of structured experiences and interactions designed to enhance leadership skills and develop understanding of key local, state and federal policy issues particularly through the lens of educational equity.

The ten month program includes an opening two-day retreat on Racism and Leadership; half-day monthly forums for exploring public policy issues, especially those linked to the critical issue of educational equity; and a daylong seminar with state policymakers at the state capital. Forum presenters include EPFP™ alumni, elected officials, agency and legislative heads and staff, leaders from special interest and advocacy groups, academic experts, and other policy leaders. Through interactions with these presenters, Fellows gain insight into key policy issues, the strategies these individuals use to move their issues or agendas, and the leadership qualities necessary to advance organizations and individuals toward their vision.
