The South Carolina EPFP™ site enters its third year with fellows from a variety of organizations. Fellows come from private business, local schools, school district offices, the state department of education, other state agencies, and local and state nonprofit organizations.
The site is hosted by the SC Association of School Administrators, which helped fund the startup costs. Other partners are the SC State Department of Education, SC School Boards Association, SC Chamber of Commerce, Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, and Clemson University.
The purpose is to strengthen the state’s corps of community, civic, and educational leaders and thereby to contribute to the quality of education policy formulation in the state. The site aims to produce graduates who are more aware of effective leadership qualities, knowledgeable of policy issues and processes, and connected to a professional network of Fellows and other state leaders. The program will serve as a forum for identifying and raising public and professional attention to issues of salience to program sponsors and develop over time a critical mass of Fellows who can apply enhanced levels of knowledge, communications, trust and focused energy to the challenge of state education policymaking and reform.
