School
Leadership Learning
Community
In partnership with the Laboratory for Student Success (LSS), IEL supports
The School Leadership Learning Community (SLLC). This project is a network
of twenty-four (24) institutions and organizations across the country that
were awared School Leadership Grants from the U.S. Department of Education
to support the development of school leaders who could be successful in
low-performing schools. The awardees include school systems, colleges and
universities, not-for profit organizations, working collaboratively to
conduct an array of training activities and leadership development
opportunities for current principals and assistant principals, and aspiring
principals. Funds to support the learning community, which IEL designed and
implemented, were provided by the DOE Office of Innovation and Improvement.
IEL's work through the SLLC is to provide the awardees with
opportunities to
Share their respective work,
Engage in cross-site communication and
dialogues, and
Exchange strategies, promising practices,
and lessons learned.
